Prime Energy Group provides a number of different Spray Foam products to insulate your home:
Bayer BaySeal Open Cell (0.5 pound) and Closed Cell (2.0 pound) Spray Polyurethane Foam insulation
Two-part spray system applies a polyol and an isocyanate along with catalysts, fire retardants, and other additives, which quickly react and expand. As the polyurethane expands, it fills every crack and crevice in the wall, hardening in a few minutes to form an inert insulation barrier. The semi-rigid insulation is then trimmed and cut to allow installation of sheetrock and the completion of the structure.
Open Cell SPF weighs approximately half a pound per cubic foot once cured, and calculates at about R-value 3.5 per inch applied. Closed Cell SPF is heavier, weighing in at 2 pounds per cubic foot, and has an R-value of around 6.0 per inch.
Unlike fiberglass insulation, once applied and cured, spray foam neither releases particles into the environment, nor does it hold moisture or act as a food source for mold or rodents. Polyurethane is a commonly used material in countless industrial and commercial applications, and as such is both very reliable, and very safe. Furthermore, as an inert semi-rigid foam, once SPF is installed, it maintains its integrity and the integrity of the wall for the entirety of a building’s lifecycle.
