Picking the right contractor for your Spray Foam Insulation (SPF) project is crucial.  Since SPF is a site manufactured product,  your installation is only as good as the company you choose to spray your project.  Not only is Prime Energy Group rated in the highest tier of contractors and applicators from Bayer, a manufacturer of the SPF chemicals we spray, but we also take job site safety very seriously. At Prime Energy Group we pride ourselves on being good stewards of our industry.  This means a lot in the largely unregulated SPF industry.  We follow guidelines set forth by Bayer Material Science, the Bayer Corporation industrial Hygiene Division, protocols specific to SPF created bt the American Chemistry Council, and OSHA and NC Department of Labor mandates for SPF respiratory safety.  Your safety as well as ours is paramount. SPF is a thermoset polyurethane much like the plastics that are all around us: The coushions of your couch, your mattress, car seats, car interiors, childrens play toys, computer parts and keyboards.  Our world is filled with polyurethanes that we do not even notice on a daily basis. Since Spray Foam is field manufactured, there are precautions to take.  Our company and professional team of installers have been trained on the correct procedures for installation.  This includes respiratory safety in the proximity of the area being sprayed, during installation, and for a period of time after installation.  Bayer is the only manufacturer of SPF that has conducted an independent study on reoccupancy after installation.   We will take every measure possible to ensure that you have been notified of the precautions and are aware of our recommendations and industry guidelines.

As for Bayer’s product, We have the ability to choose and spray any product on the market.  In fact, Bayer has the most restrictive nature of any of the manufacturers on who they allow to spray their product and use their name.  We chose and continue to choose Bayer for the following reasons:

1. Bayer is a huge multinational chemical company that focuses on science for better living (deep pockets and strong brand/ they will not be putting my clients and crew at risk)

2. Bayer has an overwhelmingly strong commitment to safety (only product with a 100% non-fugitive catalyst in both A and B sides – again safety for crew and end user)

3. Bayer is made in the USA and is American Recovery and Reinvestment Act approved product

4. They are very limiting in who they allow to be a dealer, this is important to Prime Energy Group to ensure that no dealers in other markets will sully our good name

5. Their R&D is amazing, our crews have sprayed many different product (Icynene, Biobased, Demilec, etc..) Not only is Bayer’s product line consistent, their products are constantly improving. In short, it makes it easier to ensure that every install is on-spec and high quality (peeling, bubbles, unreacted chemical, etc..)

6. Bayer’s OC is 100% water blown and passes the California High Performance Schools VOC testing (one of the most stringent tests in air quality)

7. Bayer’s OC has no minimum applied thickness. It is currently listed as an air barrier 3.5”, but the R&D departments are working on testing to prove that it is actually much lower.

8. Incredibly low vapor perm rating on the OC product, meaning far less opportunity for attic humidity in a sealed assembly.

I can honestly go on and on about the superior nature of Bayer’s product in the market place.  Icynene is a great marketing firm with an average product, but for Prime Energy Group we believe our end product is our marketing and average is not adequate. This is why we choose to spray material from a multinational chemical producer. We are the stewards of our own reputation and name and must ensure we only use the HIGHEST integrity HIGHEST quality products.
